The BRAIN Centre, a preclinical and neuroimaging institute of King's College London and host laboratory of our PhD student Helena, has celebrated 10 years on the past 16th April. To mark the occasion, a full-day open event was organized, where researchers and students of the BRAIN Centre shared ongoing work and future projects with the wider research community, funders and collaborators. Helena gave a talk concerning the work she will be developing at BRAIN during this year. Congrats!
In the beginning of February, Helena started her 1-year period at King's College London, in the BRAIN Centre for Preclinical Imaging, under the supervision of Doctor Marija-Magdalena Petrinovic. During this time, Helena will perform exciting experiments with electrophysiology, optogenetics and functional MRI techniques, towards her PhD project, SENSEing Autism. We wish Helena the best of luck, and that this may be a very rewarding experience, both academically and personally.
The DiVErSe team has joined together over a home-cooked meal to celebrate its most recent milestones. Our group leader Doctor Joana Gonçalves has taken up a role as Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Coimbra, and the group wishes all the best for this new deserved position. We also used this opportunity to say goodbye to Helena Ferreira, who soon will be going to King's College London to work on her PhD project for one year. Best of luck in her experiments!
